Socrata Voice Demo skill is one of VOGO Voice’s unique demonstrations to enable voice app developers and businesses gain actionable insights on the possible, diverse opportunities of merging the datasets freely available on Socrata’s open data network with the unique capabilities of voice-enabled applications to grant users the privilege to query, analyze and share information in a more meaningful way.
The demo skill aims to exemplify potential use cases of how open data can be accessed by users through simple voice commands. The examples employ four distinct datasets from government administered databases, namely, employment, open budgets, registered businesses and recreation centers. Additionally, by summarizing a large dataset in a visual format, the skill presents users with a well rounded smart speaker experience. This demonstration perfectly embodies how socrata services coupled with a voice app can drive open data functions and maximize citizen engagement.
