Skill Review: Math Mountain

‘Math Mountain’ is a fun and educational skill developed by Seaside Voice Apps to help kids test their elementary Math knowledge. It’s a math game that will help to hone your kid’s mathematical skills while also entertaining them. In this game skill, the kids are expected to solve and answer 7 math questions in a row to reach the summit of Math Mountain. The game starts off easy, and the questions get tougher the higher they climb. The rules are fairly simple and so is the premise. The goal of this game is to climb up the mountain by answering the questions correctly. If they give a wrong answer, they have the option to continue playing by using a lifeline. The questions deal with various basic math operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ratios and so on. To make the game a bit less challenging, kids are also given three additional lifelines to help them with their journey. If they make it to the top of Math Mountain they get to start a winning streak. The skill focuses on enhancing the learning experience of kids with its creative, auditory, and visual aids. To spark their interest in the game, it comes with a monthly leaderboard where kids have the opportunity to step up the championship ladder.

The skill also supports lifeline purchasing capability through their premium packs – the Starter Pack and the Mega Pack. The starter pack offers its users 3 extra lifelines, while the mega pack includes an additional 10 lifelines.

Overall, Math Mountain is without a doubt one of the best math games that your child can play with your smart speaker. That being said, there are a few downsides that made it to the list; the first one being those random instances wherein the skill incorrectly recognized the user’s response as the correct answer. In addition, some of the word problems might be a little challenging for younger kids, but with time and effort, they can definitely see their progress.
